“My daughter is a very curious girl with drive. As a single mother on a fixed income this is a great opportunity for us to participate in one of her interests without putting us in a financial hardship. This would give a great introduction to STEAM."
Houses of STEAM is a program for Compton youth, k-6th, and their families to learn STEAM education through hands-on training, building projects, attending field trips and speaking with BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) professionals in the STEAM career fields.
Parent participation is mandatory unless otherwise stated. All project supplies, food and transportation costs for events will be free, unless otherwise stated. It's going to be a life changing experience for your family. You don't want to miss this opportunity.
Houses of STEAM runs from September - June
We encourage your entire family, neighbors and friends to join Houses of STEAM. Teamwork makes the dream work.
“My kids create things daily. It gives them life and I believe that Houses of STEAM will equip them to think deeper and bigger about these projects and spark new ideas for them to run with."
~Charrise, Parent in Compton
